Today has been a beautiful sunny day here in the valley, so I mustered up some energy and decided it was time to blog. Eddie and I are excited for spring, and looking forward to taking advantage of some better weather. I have been spending my days teaching English at Reading Town and working at a toy store called Miss Muffits. My sister pointed out to me, that if you didn't know me, my job profile sounded like something straight out of Sesame Street!

Eddie is doing well, work is busy for him and he's been trying to run in the evenings. Our small group calls him "Steady Eddie", and it's really a perfect description. He's just enjoying life at the moment, before some changes come his way.

Eddie took some pictures of me at the store today where I work, so I thought I would post them so you can get a better idea of my every day life at the moment. Enjoy the glimpse into Miss Muffits, and fill me in on details in your life. aka Send pictures.

Hello Again!

It's been awhile since an update so here's a quick recap...Eddie and I had a marvelous Christmas in Winnipeg "last" year. It was refreshing to go home, be with family, eat an excessive amount, play games, and see old friends. No wonder Christmas still is, and always will be my favorite season.

However, like it does, life has quickly settled back into routine. Eddie is busy at work, and I am busy teaching and spending my mornings job hunting. Due the regularity of January, Eddie and I decided to have a date day this last weekend in Vancouver. We went to Granville Island, went shopping on Granville Street, toured Stanley Park, browsed through Ikea, and finished the day off with eating out at our current favorite eatery, McDonald's, hehe. All that to say we had a very enjoyable day and thought we would share some pictures with everyone.

Oh also before I forget, I've added two pictures from Eddie's birthday supper. There's a picture of him and his cake, and one of him showing off his new watch. We had such a good day for his birthday, we went out for Thai food (his favorite), had lots of birthday cake, and went to the movie "The Fighter" (a great movie for all the true story drama fans out there!)

Victoria

This last Sunday Eddie and I went to Victoria for the day to sight see and visit a friend from college. We have been wanting to take the ferry to the island and go see Victoria ever since we have lived in BC, so we decided Sunday was the day to do it since summer is quickly disappearing.

We had a great day, we got up at 5:30 am to catch an early ferry and we ended up getting home at midnight. We absolutely loved Victoria, the British origins are extremely evident as the architecture and feel of the city resembles an old British colony. We toured BC's legislative buildings, shopped the old streets looking at souvenirs, and explored the harbor watching ships and admiring the open ocean. Victoria is apparently called the "garden city" and now I understand why. There are flowers everywhere, on the lawns, in baskets, hanging from the stores, simply everywhere. It really was beautiful. We also had a good time catching up with our friend Matt and his finance from Providence. After we had walked for hours around downtown he took us on his own personal tour of the city. We checked out some old British mansions right on the ocean, and then had dinner at a little drive-in in a park, again surrounded by more flowers.

Hello all! Eddie and I have had a really uneventful weekend....Actually he's out with some friends tonight and I'm home doing homework but I needed a break from papers, hence the blog post. Here are some pics of our new love seat we bought it a couple weeks ago and its great to have another seat in our place. Sorry if the pics are kind of dark. Eddie and I were bored on Friday night so we buzzed his hair. It's so short, I don't recognize the guy! Anyway those are honestly the only two updates I could think of. Only one more week of school and then hopefully some summer sun and relaxation.

Spring 2010

I just thought I would post a little note since its been awhile since an update. Eddie and I are really busy at the moment as I'm trying to finish up a condensed summer semester, and Eddie is putting in some overtime hours at work. We are really looking forward to July and August when we can just relax and actually do some things we enjoy other than writing papers and quoting windows!

It's been raining here for 2 months minus the odd day here or there so we are also ready for some sunshine! But we have had some great moments this spring, one of them being when my mom came to visit in May. I realized that I never posted any pics yet so here they are! We had the best week together just hanging out, shopping, and lots of visiting! No other major events to blog, but hopefully Eddie and I will have some more opportunities to post things throughout the summer to keep everyone in touch.

Hello!

I hope everyone had a great Easter! We had an awesome weekend in Kelowna and it was really exciting driving our new car home. Here are some pictures of it, we are really happy with it! Here is a video from the Canada/Swiss Game, this is the crowd when Canada scored the winning goal! The second video is us at the German House in Stanley Park. Eddie loved the Bratwurst and the beer! It was really fun but we did wait almost two hours to get inside!

Here are some more pictures from our Olympic week. Vancouver is absolutely crazy, it's so busy and there are tons of people everywhere. It's been so fun to be downtown and attend tons of free events. Patricia and Ray flew home this afternoon after a very busy, but incredible week!

Happy Holidays! Time is flying by and as I'm writing this I realize that this time next week we'll will be boarding the plane for Manitoba! Eddie and I cannot wait to come home for Christmas. It just doesn't feel very Christmasy out here when there is no snow.
Eddie and I celebrated our three year anniversary yesterday, three years already!!!
We had an awesome night of eating, eating, and eating! We had swiss raclette and chocolate fondue. Here are some pictures and see you all soon!

Our New Residence!

Well we finally got our place all set up. It took about a week straight of solid work but it feels great to be set up and able to relax again. Hope you can get a feel of what it looks like from the pictures! Welcome to our new place!!!!!

We put up these curtains in our den because our place really has no storage. The den is quite big so we put up these panel curtains and sliced off a quarter of the room. They were a lot of work!!!! But we're really happy with the outcome.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm taking a quick break from studying so I thought I would post some pics of our weekend. We went to Eddie's cousins wedding yesterday in Delta. It was a beautiful outdoor wedding, and thankfully it didn't rain. It was really special to be together with Eddie's parents and his aunt and uncle from Germany for the day. The whole day reminded me how much I love weddings! Enjoy!

June has arrived! I am still in shock, it seems like yesterday when we were flying home for Christmas...So far though June has been good to us with record high temperatures, its supposed to be 33 degrees today! It has been warm for the past couple days so on the weekend Eddie and I had a date day and went into Vancouver. We rented a tandom bike and biked the sea wall at Stanley Park, stopping for awhile at the beach. We then spent the rest of the day shopping along Kitislano and going for Mexican food for lunch!
Our summer courses are wrapping up, we only have 2 weeks left. After that Henry and Erika are coming out for a visit, and we will all go to Eddie's cousins wedding in Richmond. Just after that, Eddie and I are moving into our new place on July 1st. It will be a busy but really fun next couple weeks. I miss everyone a lot and we our really looking forward to summer holidays in Manitoba!

Hi Everyone!

It has been awhile since we have updated! The thing is we really haven't been up to very much since Christmas. As most of you know our lives have consisted of studying and working, not very exciting. But spring has sprung which means I am almost done finals, so life has eased up a bit.

This past weekend Eddie and I hung out with some friends on Friday night watching some hockey, appartently the Canucks are a big deal out here. On Saturday we went into Vancouver to meet an old friend of Eddie's from Germany. Eddie was in the same class with Leony from kindergarton to high school and she is in Seattle for the year working as a nanny. So her and a friend, also from Germany came up to Vancouver for the weekend. Eddie and I were excited to give them a little Canadian tour, we went to Granville Island, Stanley Park, and the Science Center!

So ya that was our weekend, this week Monday Eddie has his final exam for his computer course and I have three more exams to go, so we are back to study mode!

Christmas Season has arrived! Eddie and I spent Friday night getting our house ready for Christmas. Since we leave for Winnipeg on Dec. 18th we thought we would just put up a little tree. Hi! It's been awhile since we updated but really not to much has been going on here. We have been studying and working......and more studying. It's starting to feel a little bit like winter, the trees have no leaves and the air is getting cold. It's kinda wierd getting ready for Christmas when the grass is still green.
Eddie and I went for a long walk today. We both needed to get out. We are so excited to come home in 3 weeks! Here are some pics from the last couple days!

Well September is here and almost over. Life has been really busy this month with starting school and getting back to work. We haven't written on our blog since July so we thought it was time for a little entry. Eddie and I are slowly getting into our new fall routine, here are some different pics. Enjoy!

Eddie has found a soccer team to play for. Its just a rec league, they play on Saturdays. It will just be fun for now and the guys seem really nice. He played his first game on Saturday.

We were bored and were just hanging out. Good times....

This is our new desk. We needed a desk so we could have a study place. We had some moving around to do, but we are pretty happy with the final setup.

Alouette Lake

Hey guys! This weekend Eddie and I hung out with my cousin Ellen. It was a beautiful day on Saturday so we decided to go to a lake and go canoeing! It was so beautiful, we went to Golden Ears Provinical Park at Alouette lake. We had such a good time! We packed a little picnic along the way aka. Eddie eating sun chips in the canoe. We almost capsized a couple times, but luckily we didn't have to go swimming. We also got the amazing idea to see how fast the three of us could make that little canoe go, and let me tell you it was speedy! haha We have very sores arms today. Anyway we had a great day. Canada Day Long Weekend

Eddie and I went to Kelowna for the long weekend to visit my Aunt and Uncle! We had an awesome time hanging out with everyone. Grant came home for the weekend, so we had a chance to meet Janelle and hang out with the two of them. Ellen was able to come on Sunday and we got to meet Megan's husband, Ryan. It was an incredibly hot weekend so we had some beach days, we went to Mission Hills winery and went to Myra Cannon and hiked on the trestles. Auntie Janice's food tasted amazing and we loved spending the weekend with family and getting a little spoiled! It was great to get away, it finally felt like summer!

Hey guys,

We haven't updated in a couple weeks but then on the other hand we haven't been up to too much. We have been working and waiting for summer, even though every day has been cloudy! But finally today we had sunshine! Last weekend we went to Vancouver and hung out with David and Keri, we had a campfire and hung out at the beach together. We had a really good time with them. On Sunday we went to the airport and picked up Eddies's brother, Henry who came and stayed with us for a couple days. We didn't have to much time with him because he had to work but the little amount of time we had was really good!

This week I got to go to Victoria on a field trip with my school. It was a really fun day but I was exhausted after being with 90 gr. 5's for 14 hours. We went on the ferry to Victoria and went to the Royal BC museum and the parliament buildings, we also had a couple hours to hang out in the harbour.

Eddie and I just rested this weekend, I wasn't feeling very good on Friday and Saturday but Sunday was better, we went to church and then Eddie had a enjoyable afternoon watching Italy lose to Spain. We went out for a nice supper and just relaxed the rest of the evening, here our some summer pics of our Sunday.

Lindeman Lake

This weekend Eddie and I went for a long hike to Lindeman Lake near Chilliwack. Saturday was a beautiful day and we both woke up and felt like going for a hike. We drove into the mountains and then parked and went for a long hike, up! The hike was pretty intense, all uphill. After a couple hours of hiking you reach a lake in the mountains. It was so beautiful! The lake was this blue/green color and the water was so clear you could see the bottom!
We had a little picnic by the water before we hiked down!

Hope everyone had an awesome may long weekend. Eddie and I went into Vancouver for a part of our weekend. We went to Granville Island and then to the beach, it was such a hot day! We had a really good time, Eddie has become crazy about boats, so we sat in the harbour and just watched everyone cruising for a long time! And we had lots of good food, there is everything to pick from in the market! The rest of the weekend we took it easy just watching movies and kicking the soccer ball around. White Rock

We haven't updated for awhile but thats because life has been very ordinary. But today was a beautiful sunny day so we went to White Rock for the day. White Rock is right on the ocean and along the ocean there are shops and restaurants. We had a really good time hanging out together at the ocean and eating fish & chips! We wish you all could have been there with us! Eddie and I are doing well but we are really missing home like crazy, so it was good to have a day away, it seemed a little bit like a summer holiday. We both got sun burns! Not much is new with us, just looking forward to summer ahead, today was a taste of it!

Here are some pictures from our walk on Sunday. We did a new trail and it was really pretty. Here in the Fraser Valley there are little hobby farms everywhere, on our way to the walk we were driving and we saw this little pony. He was so cute and when we pulled the car over he came right up to us, we think we was lonely. He was so awesome! Anyway here are some pics of our walk and the pretty Fraser Valley. Hope everyones doing well! Our good friend Steph came out to visit us for a couple days. We did the usually shopping and were able to go on some hikes. It was just so fun to have a visitor! Eddie is really loving his job and is enjoying his work and also the people he works with, he's really starting to find his place there. I am starting my new job at the elementary school this Monday. I will be working with some gr. 1 boys and a gr. 5 student that had a brain injury. I will be there till the end of the school year. Not much is new with us other than that, we are missing everyone alot, but trying to stay positive by enjoying BC and the spring weather. Anyway I added some pics from the last weekend. Sunday Afternoon

Hey guys!

Eddie and I had a great Sunday afternoon, it was such a beautiful day. It was 10 degrees and perfectly sunny. It was our first sunny day here so we had to take advantage of it. After church we headed out and went to Bridal Falls, we hiked up to the falls and took some pictures. It was so beautiful, everything is so incredibly green and everything is covered in moss. We then hiked back down to the car and drove to Cultus Lake. Its a big beautiful lake in the mountains. We went for a long walk and it was just so sunny and relaxing, lots of people were out enjoying the day. We had a really fun day and it was cool to be so surrouded in the amazing nature. God feels so close at times when you are surrounded in his beauty.

Anyway we wanted to share our day with you. We are doing well, Eddie has Monday off so he's looking forward to that. I have 2 jobs now, I am working at a language school teaching English and I just got a full time temporary teachers assistant position, hopefully it will turn into something permanent. We are so excited to be coming home in 2 weeks, the countdown is on!

Trip to Richmond

Eddie and I went to Richmond on Sunday to visit his Uncle John and Aunt Charlotte and the family. They came to Winnipeg for our wedding but we didn't have a chance to really talk or hang out, and other than our wedding Eddie hadn't seen them for 8 years. We had a really good time hanging out and getting to know the cousins and it was nice to finally meet some of Eddie's extended family! We also had a chance to meet Veronica's boyfriend, Steve. We have attached some pics from the day of the family and also a really massive bridge thats fun to cross.

Vancouver Canucks

Eddie and I had the awesome experience to go to the Vancouver Canucks game last night. Tammi and Steve (upstairs) gave us free tickets. We did not turn those down! Eddie literally walked in the front door and 10 minutes later we were out on our way to Vancouver for the game. Luckly the highways were pretty empty because it had snowed and everyone freaks out here in the snow, so we cruised pretty quickly into downtown Vancouver. It was a really fun game, Vancouver lost 4-3 to the Dallas Stars but it was fun to watch 7 goals and Vancouver pulled their goalie for the last minute of play so things got pretty exciting. It was a really good time, we have attached some pics from the evening.
Otherwise we are doing good, things feel busy trying to get our lives organized here. Eddie is enjoying his new job but like any new job it brings its stresses. I am still job hunting I have a couple prospects so keep me in your prayers.

Westminster Abbey

Eddie and I went for a walk to the Abbey in Mission today. By the time we got to the lookout the sun was setting and it was such a beautiful view. From the lookout you can oversee the mountains and Mission and a part of Abbotsford. It was a enjoyable Sunday afternoon but we didn't get to stay to long as the days are still really short. At the bottom is a picture of my familys first church "Mission Alliance". Still looks pretty good!

Our Move to Abbotsford

Hey everyone!

Well...we made it! We arrived in Abbotsford on Jan. 11 a Friday night after a long but good week of traveling. We stayed at Karen's grandparents in Calgary. There we had an awesome chocolate fondue for my (Eddie) 25th birthday on Jan. 9! We visited Karen's grandpa which was great, she hadn't seen him in years. From there we went to Kelowna on Wednesday and stayed with Auntie Janice and Uncle Garry. We had a fun time, hottubbing and relaxing before another day of driving. On Friday we made it safely to Abbotsford, after 2 pretty sketchy mountain passes! We want to thank everyone for all the prayers and support. We love you guys!

Moving

Hi,
I haven't added a post in a very long time! Lots of things have happened since I was last on here. We have been keeping busy with friends, family and of course, work. We really enjoyed the fall, slowing our life down a little. As I'm writing this, I'm watching the snow fall and am loving my afternoon off.
Well this fall, Eddie got a job offer in BC. He was offered a position at Innotech a windows and doors company based out of Abbotsford. It is a really great position, and we both felt that we couldn't turn it down. So we are moving to Abbotsford. The last month has been a bit of a rollarcoaster ride of emotion, but we have decided to take on this little adventure. We will be moving on Jan.7. I will be going back to school and going to Univeristy in Abbotsford to get my education degree. We are currently looking for a house, and slowly starting to clean and pack our apartment.
So that is whats new with us! We are a little scared but also excited. We decided we are young, and this is the time to do something a little crazy!

Eddie and I went to Saskatoon and PA for Sept long weekend. It was really nice to get away and go on a lil road trip together. Eddie had a chance to see where I grew up ie. house, school, church, slush store, etc. It was a really good time and it was great to see the girls!

Well the summer is over and its back to work. I am working at the church in the mornings and I am back at the elementary school for the afternoons. Eddie is so excited for winter, just because he's hoping work will slow down. We did get a chance to go camping for a week which was really fun and we just got back this last weekend from PA. Eddie and I had a little roadtrip and it was a ton of fun to show him where I grew up.

Eddie has his second last soccer game of the season and he is so pumped. Here is a picture of some of the alumni players that he was playing with this summer.

Well last week I went to the dentist and I needed to get one of my wisdom teeth out. I had two out in high school but yes I get the great experince of going through it again!
So today was the big day! I am at home right now, sore and a little swollen, but otherwise doing okay.Watching a lot of friends episodes and eating ice cream, so I really can't complain, its not all bad!

Taneil comes to Morden

This past weekend one of my best friends Taneil from Saskatchewan, came to visit Eddie and I. We had a really good time hanging out, which included going to Eddie's game on Monday. We sadly said goodbye on Tuesday night.
